A limited number of interview slots will be available for individuals wanting to complete their Proposal Profession Impact Paper (PPIP) presentation and competency based interview.

Prior to the interview, candidates must have:

  • Registered for the Professional level assessment
  • Had their PPIP assessed by the Chief Examiner
  • Nominated a Referee for the behavioural competency assessment in advance of the Interview

Candidates wishing to complete their APMP Professional Certification are required to follow the guidelines provided on the APMP website.

This intense full-day workshop is for members who would like to complete the Proposal Practitioner Assessment Questionnaire (PPAQ) at the UK Conference. Participants should register for this workshop and begin prerequisite activities at least 1 month in advance.

Participation in his workshop will require:

  • Foundation level Accreditation
  • Pre-registration for the Practitioner Assessment 
  • Completion of the APMP Practitioner Completion Tutorial.
  • Advance preparation of 12+ competency evidence responses

The APMP Practitioner Completion Tutorial Workshop includes access to the APMP Practitioner "Completion" Tutorial. Participants complete the one-hour, on-line tutorial prior to attending the "Completion" workshop. The tutorial provides:

Introduction to the PPAQ requirements.

  • Instructions to preform a self-assessment against the Practitioner competencies
  • Demonstration of how to use the PPAQ Standards and Guidelines to build your competency evidence responses.
  • Examples of completed evidence responses
  • Explanation of how to handle some of the more challenging competency areas.

This workshop is a full day dedicated to completing the 35 competency evidence responses with support from the Chief Examiner, Education and Certification Director.

At the completion of this workshop members should have completed their Proposal Practitioner Assessment Questionnaire (PPAQ) and be ready to submit to Chief Examiner for assessment.

This full day workshop is for members who are ready to start preparing their Proposal Practitioner Assessment Questionnaire (PPAQ).

The workshop includes access to the APMP Practitioner "Quick Start" Tutorial. Participants complete the one-hour, on-line tutorial prior to attending the "Quick Start" workshop. The tutorial provides:

  • Introduction to the PPAQ requirements.
  • Instructions to perform a self-assessment against the Practitioner competencies
  • Demonstration of how to use the PPAQ Standards and Guidelines to build your competency evidence responses.
  • Examples of completed evidence responses
  • Explanation of how to handle some of the more challenging competency areas.

Participants are asked to complete two competency evidence responses prior to the workshop and submit them to the Education and Certification Director for feedback. This will allow maximum time for development of evidence responses during the workshop. During the workshop participants receive:

  • Individual coaching to develop 8 to 10 compliant competency evidence responses.
  • Understanding of how to handle some of the more challenging competency areas.
  • Evaluation of completed responses to confirm they understand the approach and can write the remainder of their responses on their own.
  • On-going support to complete their PPAQ after the workshop

At the completion of this workshop members will have completed up to 8 to 10 of their self-assessment questions and have a clear understanding of how to compete their remainder of their PPAQ within the next 4 to 6 weeks. The workshop cost does not include cost of Practitioner Assessment which is to be paid when you submit your PPAQ.

OVERVIEW

This full day workshop is for members who are ready to start preparing their Proposal Practitioner Assessment Questionnaire (PPAQ).

The Practitioner Quick Start workshop provides APMP Foundation Accredited member's guidance and practice about how to prepare their Proposal Practitioner Assessment Questionnaires (PPAQ). In addition, real time individual and group coaching is provided. The APMP staff delivers this workshop with support from a few local mentors. This workshop is intended to be integrated into pre-conference activities of local chapters.

Lunch and refreshments are included in the price.

The Workshop is open to all members whether they have started their PPAQs or not. Advance preparation is required. However registration and payment of the Practitioner fee with the APM Group is not required.

As the outcome of the workshop, members can expect to understand the required approach to responding to the self-assessment questionnaire and complete 6 to 8 of the 30 competency assessments.

Preparation

Candidates should study the "Tips for Preparing the Proposal Practitioner Assessment Questionnaire" in advance. During the workshop members will receive coaching on writing responses to individual competencies.

Candidates should also collect any documents, experience records, detail resumes, work logs etc. they have. These artifacts may help them remember when they applied the skills requested for the individual competencies. These records and notes only are for reference. They will not be submitted for assessment.

The Workshop runs from 8h00 – 14h30 on 22nd October 2012

  1. Practitioner Tutorial – How to complete your PPAQ in a compliant and time efficient manner.

    4. Example PPAQ response
    5. Additional Tips
  2. Candidates choose two competency areas within their comfort zone and develop responses. These will be reviewed against the APMP standards. Individual coaching will be provided as required.
     
  3. Next candidates will pick a competency area that they consider difficult based on their own experience and develop a response. Coaching and group discussion will address how the individually challenging competencies can be addressed.
     
  4. Candidates will work individually on additional competencies with coaching and discussion provided.
     
  5. Wrap up and discussion.

Candidate Responsibilities

  1. Study in advance of "Tips for Preparing the Proposal Practitioner Assessment Questionnaire" and "Practitioner Standards and Guidelines". Bring paper copies of these documents with you for your reference.
     
  2. Download the Word version of the PPAQ to your laptop and bring your laptop computer.
     
  3. Collect any documents, experience records, detail resumes, work logs etc. you may have. These artifacts may help you remember when you applied the skills requested for the individual competencies. These only are for your reference; they will not be submitted for assessment.
     
  4. Review the "Practitioner Standards and Guidelines" to pick out the individual competencies you would like to work on.
